Patch
Patch is a rescue dog that we got from Tears (Animal Rescue Society) in 2007. The vet's receptionist rescued her from a drunk that was dragging her along on a piece of string. He was quite happy to give her away for a few rand. Jack, my other half, fell in love with her when he saw her but she had to go to Tears to be analyzed for any germs etc that she might have had. We think she was about 10 weeks old when she went to Tears. I was happy that we had her as part of our family but she had to stay there because she had mange and other small problems. I made sure that all was okay with her before we took her home. In fact on the way home we went to our vet to check her out again so as not to infect any of my Schnauzers with anything that might have been missed. She goes to the office every day with Jack but spends the rest of the time with all the family. She is a very lovable little girl and is an integral part of the family. At dog shows some of the judges think that she is a "Kooikerhond" (Dutch Water dog).
